This work is one of the first in my new series “On the Surface”. This series investigates natural and manmade surface textures and how they trigger memories and emotions. When I was a young girl at high school we studied Botticelli’s famous painting “Venus”. I loved this painting as it represented beauty and romantic love. The rich gold is reflective of the Renaissance period and the falling flowers represent tears.
