"Reef On The Edge" This painting is one in the series titled “On the Surface” In this series I explore surfaces manmade and natural and how they evoke memories and emotions.  This work was inspired by my memories of a wonderful holiday to the Whitsundays in Queensland. The title refers to my fears for the plight of the Great Barrier Reef as it is being ravaged by naturally occurring and man-made influences. I spent many hours snorkeling and exploring the reef and saw the overwhelming beauty and the deterioration.
