"Finding Ulysses"

65mm x 95mm x 60mm (25.6" x 37.4" x 2.4 ")

Resin, powdered pigment, acryllic paint on cradled wood panel.

This painting was inspired by a visit to the Australian butterfly Sanctuary Cairns, Australia. I took many photos when I visited the Sanctuary. The beautiful Ulysses butterfly was very difficult to find and photograph hence the title of my painting. This beautiful butterfly represents the fragility of nature and it's threatened survival. "Finding Ulysses" has a unique 3D Quality due to the multiple layers of resin and acrylic paint techniques.
