60cm x 45cm (23 ½" x 17 ¾")
Resin, powdered pigment, acrylic paint on cradled wood panel.
This painting was inspired by a visit to the Australian butterfly Sanctuary Cairns, Australia. The beautiful moth in this painting is based on an Australian moth called Granny’s Cloak moth. This painting is a surreal landscape with gripping “finger like” flowers punching their way up into the light. This painting represents my concern for our fragile environment. It offers a hopeful resilience and survival of nature.
