A Raven Flew Between Us

121mm x 91mm (48.5” x 36”) Cradled wood panel

Mixed media: Acrylic paint, crackling paste, paint pours, resin layer on the water area.

The inspiration for this painting came from a lovely day spent with my mother for mother's day last year. We went to Homebush Bicentennial Park and walked along the mangrove broad walk. As we walked the light poured down through the maze of branches throwing dappling beams of light all over the water and branches. We were In a moment of complete awe of our surroundings when a Sydney Raven flew between me and mum. It was so close I felt the wing beat against my cheek. It was just one of those moments you never forget. I hope I captured this feeling and moment!
